MATT'S MACHO ROLE-MODELS!

Still looking for inspiration, either to create a character or start your game?  Here's a selection of my favorite Macho Women in fiction (and fact).  You could do worse than emulate these tough cookies.

...and if you're a guy, you 'd better stay on their good sides...

CALLISTO

Why, oh why do I always fall for the bad girls?  The show may be named for Xena, but her arch-nemesis has all the coolest lines and effects (and happens to be played by a better actress - sorry, Lucy Lawless fans...).  Callisto is a sad and bitter, insane killing machine who shoots lightning from her finger-tips and giggles when she kills people.  I just love that in a woman.  The line to kiss her feet starts behind me, buddy.   Look no further for the definitive Barbarian Princess.

MICHELLE YEOH

Some Michelle Yeoh movies:

Project S
Heroic Trio
The Executioners
Wing Chung
Holy Weapon
Magnificent Warriors
Wonder 7
Royal Warriors
Also be on the look-out for Brigitte Lin!

In Russ Meyer's Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! Tura Satana may have invented Macho.  She schemes, sneers, seduces, drives like a maniac, kills men, go-go dances, wisecracks and in general lays down the gauntlet of superiority by which all other Macho Women must measure themselves.  Now that her career in the movies seems to be over she should open a finishing school for Macho Women.  Or an obedience training class for men.

If speaking your mind could kill, Lydia Lunch would have a body count higher than Cholera's.  Through her music, spoken word performances , underground films, books and comics Lydia has been showing off her artistry, wit, intelligence, passion and uncompromising desire to single out sh*theels  for the abuse they deserve.

MARTHA WASHINGTON

"'Tough' has a new name: Martha."  Does Martha Washington kick ass and take names?  Does a bear sh*t in the woods?  A welcome break from the sexism of Frank Miller's otherwise-Macho "Sin City" series, the Martha Washington books - which include Give Me Liberty, Martha Washington Goes to War and Martha Washington Saves the World, presented the comics world with its best damn action-heroine.

AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ENTIRE WNBA
